Media Makeover

While doing some office supply shopping at Office Max, I bought this CD holder in the clearance aisle for $5 and I actually did need it for the stack of CD cases I use to store photography session on.

It was plain white and I knew it would stand out way too much in my home office but I figured I could give it a makeover once I got home!

I created a design using Print Shop
and printed the design on Avery Full Sheet labels

Wedding Gift

As a newly wed person, (how long does that title last? possible answers: 1) one year and one day, or two years and two days 2) until you have kids 3) until you stop behaving like newlyweds according to I know that I was very excited to get personalized gifts for our wedding, because you can save those for years and years reflect back at them to remember the day we said I DO.

Here is a simple way of turning a wedding gift into a wedding keepsake!

1. I bought a frame

2. I selected a picture of them courtesy of the bride and grooms website.

3. Personalized the picture using by adding their names and wedding date.

4. Cut out the picture and placed it in the frame.

Love is in the Air.

Sometimes an ordinary day can turn into the beginning of a lifetime. This past Saturday, one of my long time friends, Zabdy, married her best friend James. From the moment she walked down the aisle you could feel the love between those too as tears of joy ran down her face. It was so contagious that when she smiled, you smiled and when she cried, you cried! I wish you two all the happiness in the world!

Today our two friends start a journey

walking hand in hand, as one

they'll share everything, always

now that their journey has begun

and as they go on together,

may these two friends always treasure

the day they said, "I do."

Twenty First Birthday

Today is a special day for my younger and only brother, Chris, not only is he celebrating the day of his birth but it is also his 21st birthday! I've been listening to him at work specify exactly what he wishes to accomplish once he turned 21 and for my sake I hope he does win lottery! LOL! jk! Chris was born in 1989 which means I was 2 months short of turning 4 years old and enjoying all the luxuries of being an only child...which has me wondering if I was thrilled or not to have a baby brother on the way. (We'll have to ask mom about that) Nevertheless, Chris has been a wonderful, annoying, funny, silly, caring, loving brother throughout the years and today he is Twenty One. Happy Birthday Brother!

Savers, saves!

Every now and then, I'll make a stop at hopes of finding a good steal! Usually I have BAD luck but this past week I ran into a cupcake stand that was priced at $2.99. I took it home, cleaned it, polished it and now it looks like NEW!

I also used my handy-dandy "Goo Gone" to remove the residue from price tag

I didn't have a cupcake on me, but just to give you an idea of how it looks!

Ice Cream Cupcakes

How cute are these cupcakes???

And, YES they are cupcakes disguised as ice cream cones!

What a weekend to say the least...we are completely surrounded by great people that always come to the rescue and also know how to make a person feel special on their birthday. This year was no different for Lawrence. Saturday, I presented him with an early gift Game Room "Makeover" and he LOVED it. Sunday, we had a wonderful lunch at his parents' home and lastly a gathering at our home with our closest friend and relatives.
It was a wonderful 25th birthday for my husband.

I would like to personally thank: Leonor, Pj, Tennille, Chris and Ivette, for helping me put the game room together in less then 3 hours! I appreciate your help so much!

Also, Thank you to: Stanley, Joe and Kelly
for always being there for us, rain or shine!

Happy Birthday to my Husband

How do I begin to tell you how honoured I am
To have you in my life?
I'll start by saying it was a dream come true
The day I became your wife.

You're my best friend in the good times
And my rock in times of sorrow.
You're the reason for sweet yesterdays
And my promise for tomorrow.

I never thought I could feel this loved
Until I became your wife.
You made this year and each other year
The best of my life.

Love Always your Wife,
Adrienne Garcia

My Office

the game room does not belong to me...
sometimes I'm not even sure I'm welcomed in there! LOL.

This is My Office: I have too many things going on at once!

What I would like it to look like: structure, theme and organization

Side Dish for Dinner

Roasted Garlic Potatoes with
Red Peppers and Onion

  • Scrub your potatoes, pat dry, then cut into cubes. Lay them out on a cookie sheet, covered in aluminum foil.

  • Cut the red pepper and onion into pieces, slightly bigger than bite-size. Add them to the potatoes on the cookie sheet.

  • Toss the vegetable mixture with olive oil, coating well. Add chopped garlic, salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste.
Adrienne's Tip: If in a hurry, add Hidden Valley Ranch Dip Mix instead of ingredients above, adds great flavor too!

  • Bake in a preheated 425 degree oven, until potatoes are golden brown, about 45 minutes. Turn them over about halfway through, to ensure even cooking.

Thank you to Brown paper Package for the wonderful recipe

Although I didn't memorize everyone's name, I can assure you this family is very loving and also very funny! We had some good laughs in between shoots!

Family Photo Session

Tomorrow, I'll be taking pictures of a family of seven...and...I haven't been behind the lens for portraits since May! I'm only a little....just a little....worried about the heat since according to it will be 108 degrees tomorrow!

The world must go on in spite of the heat, here are a few portraits I've taken...well I wish I could post all of them, but here's just a couple!

Say Cheese!
