Cream Cheese Bars



Crust:
1 yellow cake mix

1 egg

1/3 cup oil



Filling:
8 ounces cream cheese

1/3 cup sugar

1 teaspoon lemon juice

1 egg



Preheat oven to 350 degrees.



Mix cake mix, egg and oil together until crumbly. Set aside 1 cup of crust mixture for topping. Pat the rest of dough lightly into a greased 9 X 13- inch pan.

Bake 15 minutes

In a separate bowl, beat together cream cheese, sugar, lemon juice, and egg until smooth. Spread evenly over baked layer. Sprinkle with reserved crust mixture.

 
Bake 15 minutes longer. Cool and cut into bars.

Helpful Hints when cooking with cake mixes
· Always beat cake batter with an electric mixer for at least 2 minutes

· Always grease and flour the cake pan, or spray it with oil- even when the recipe doesn’t call for it.

· For best results, use glass or stoneware baking dishes.
