Christmas, come back!

Merry (belated) Christmas Everyone!

I guess its true what they say, as you get older you learn to appreciate things differently. I appreciate Christmas more when I have my family around to share it with...without them, Christmas wouldn't be the same. I also love that we can have both my husband's family and mine under one roof on Christmas Day!

Where do I begin?

For Christmas Eve, it has become a tradition to spend it with my In-Laws. We have a nice dinner, play some games, have plenty of laughs and wait until after mid night to open our gifts. Dinner is always delicious, tamales, mini chimis, mini tacos, chips with salsa and LOTS of desserts!

(I don't have lots of pictures to share because I forgot to take some during dinner! err!)

Christmas morning, my family came over to our home for a wonderful breakfast that my Mom and I put together. We all sat around the living room and opened gifts one by one, awing and smiling once the gift was opened! Having Mikey around was handy because he would volunteer to open just about any gifts "I open" or "I help!" LOL! I got lots special gifts from Lawrence that I am completely in LOVE with but one (Sony Cyber-Shot) I love even more because I asked for it randomly while shopping at Sam's Club and he was (actually) paying attention! Thanks Babe!

Every year Auntie and Uncle (Ruth Ann and Paul) host a very nice Christmas Dinner at their home. They invite cousins, aunts, uncles and friends to share this special day with them.
 Yup, its a full house!

Christmas was extended by one day for the Hernandez Family! (The Hernandez are my mom's side of the family) I personally like this extensions...LOL...more food and GIFTS! We all met at my Mom's house for brunch and did a gift exchange too! We had a very special Cousin-In-Law in from the Mississippi Air force Base, Humberto. Next year my cousin Vanessa and her baby, Yvianna (better known as Evie) will be relocating with Humberto for the first time to Georgia, where he will be stationed. This was considered their last Christmas in Arizona, since we're not sure if they'll be able to travel back next year. (sad face) Mikey will miss is buddy!

I hope your holiday weekend was very special and memorable!

Three more days

Christmas is just 3 days away,

and I can't wait to share another wonderful holiday with my husband and family. I finally wrapped up all our gifts last night and I've almost checked off my list of things to do! Now I can sit back and enjoy the rest of my vacation...more like a "stay-cation."

Last night we invited our friends Joe and Kelly to do an early gift exchange! Kelly got me a few things and here is one of my favorite gifts from her.

Bible Giveaway

I gave each comment a number as they came in (For Example: the first comment is number 1 the last comment is number 10) and used a Random Number Generator
to pick the winner for me.

And the winner is......

Faith Hopkins

She entered comment number 8 with Psalms 8

1O LORD, our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens.
2Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.
 3When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;
4What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
5For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.
6Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:
 7All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field;
8The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.
9O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!

Season of Giving

One of my most favorite things to do any time of the year is to give. I always feel that if you have some and MORE then maybe it was given to you to help other and to...(you guessed it)...GIVE to others. Well this week I want to giveaway a special bible to someone special out there.

My husband works at the
Cancer Center of America and during Breast Cancer Awareness month the hospital gave these one of a kind bibles to all employees and Lawrence was able to get me an extra one to give away.

Hopkins Family

With so much work on my desk, I knew I still had to stop by and post a few pictures from last nights session just for Faith. LOL. This session took place in the Hopkins home, which I had only done once before since a home is usually limited in lighting, but as you can tell, plenty of light going on here. We appreciate you guys very much, no matter what, we can always count on a good time, good food and good laughs with your family!

Robles Family

This years Mini Session deal is almost coming to an end with just two session left before I go on a "photography" vacation for two weeks. On Saturday we drove out to Garden Lakes to do the Robles Family session. Although it wasn't as green as I remembered it...with this little doll there was no way we couldn't get great family pictures here! She is oh-so-cute!

adorable right?

You got it girl!

Every year the youth from my old church have a "Winter Formal Banquet" and the girls love to dress up and look their best for the occasion. This time I got to help 3 lovely ladies get ready
Eli, Abby and Tennille.

I considered their outfits for the evening to decide how I'd be doing their hair...after a lot of hairspray and bobby in between and stories to catch up on, here are the girls final look!

Miss Elizabeth

Miss Tennille

(who didn't let me post her BEFORE, Errr)

Miss Abby

I hope you ladies had a wonderful night!

Lawrence always likes to be apart of the action! He's a goof!

Time for Change

I'm in the middle of changing my photography company name and do away with Captured Elegance Photography. The main reason for this change is because when I first started out I thought I'd be doing a lot of weddings but it's not my favorite thing to do anymore. I found my niche and really enjoy family, senior and children portraits the most and it doesn't feel like
Captured Elegance portrays a family photographer.

I thought it would be fun to get some insight from you ladies (and few gentlemen) on which name I should pick. Please refer to the poll on the right hand side (above the "About me") and submit your vote today!

Now to clean up the mess!

Christmas is slowly entering our home and I love how it makes the house feel so warm! I have two themes going on, one half of the house is Snowman and the other half is (supposed to be) Candy Cane. I'll post more pictures once I add and finish the decorating!

I'd love to see what everyone else is doing in their homes,
email me some pictures!!!
