All done!

I would say that we have been working on the Alumni Banquet for GCA three times a week for the past month. It was a lot of work and just like any event I've coordinated in the past, it takes time and a great team to get it DONE! I couldn't have accomplished it all alone, so I have to give a HUGE

Thank you

to the ladies that took time out of their schedule to put this banquet together.

Kelly, Nikki, Lily, Keri, Teresa...

and Olivia, who also helped me out so much!

More pictures of the banquet to come next week!

On another note, Vacation starts in 24 hours and we are San Diego bound! Woo hoo! I'm very excited about this trip because we have 4 more friends, 2 more uncles, 1 more aunt, 4 more cousins and even my Grandma that is joining the group of our Annual San Diego trip this year! Want to know the total....okay I'll tell you, it's 24 of us!

Have a safe 4th of July weekend!

Push Pops

Nope, it's not your ordinary Push pop that you would buy from the ice cream man!

They're called Push Pops Cupcakes and are hitting the blog world by storm!

You can order the push pops supplies: here by wholesale OR here by the dozen.

I also found a blog that shows how easy it is to make these cupcakes!
Stop by and visit, Gourmet Mom on the go!

Dress no More!

I have found the easiest way for
the non-sewing girl to make a skirt!

It all starts with Unique Stitch (you can buy at any fabric store)...

and a dress like this.

(These dresses are popular at Ross Stores during this season.)

First you have to mark or fold the dress where you want the waist to start,
add 1-2 inches for the waistband.

Now the dress will look like this...

Make sure to do both sides for the following steps.

Do the following steps on the front side of the skirt.
*I accidentally made my cuts on the inside and took pictures of those steps. I redid it on the outside...so don't be confused with the pictures that show a fold.

All Done!!!! Seriously...it's that easy!!!

Uh Oh!

Turns out I wasn't careful enough when washing my clothes last week that I SHRUNK one of my tops! ahhh! I really hate when this happens because 1. I only got to use it once 2. I paid money for it 3. Now that was a waste of money!

I was ready to throw it out when I thought ....maybe we can make something new out of this.

Why not try?

It's worth a shot...Right!?

Now all that's left of the top...lol!

Beauty Secrets 101

I'm no expert when it comes to beauty secrets but I do have a few tips to share that I've picked up along the way. These are all items I've been using  for many years now, so I know they work. (Wow, saying many years makes me feel old. lol). Creating good habits may take some time and if done correctly it shouldn't become an extra chore but just a casual daily habit like brushing your teeth.

FACE
1. Washing you face is key to having clean and clear skin. I use this product 4 times a week and the easiest way to include it in my daily schedule is to apply while in the shower. You can feel the difference in your skin right away, it will feel smooth.

NAILS
2. Many times my cuticles dry up and then I end up with yucky nails too but ever since I started rubbing my nails with Burt's Bees I've really seen a difference. It even helps my nails grow faster and stronger. No joke! Try applying while your a passenger in the car or right before bedtime at least 3 times a week. It only takes a few minutes and this won't take more time out of your already busy schedule.
 HAIR
3. We must protect our hair from daily pollutions and I really like using Olive Oil for that. It makes the hair shiny and soft.

You can also try using the real Olive Oil, warm it up, apply and comb it through your hair, wrap with a towel for 15-30 mins then wash your hair like normal.

FEET
 4. It's summer time and that usually means "flip flop" season, so to get your feet ready try using a foot scrub or foot moisturizer. I like to apply a moisturizer before bedtime and put some soaks over them to help the cream stay on my feet. This give the moisturizer a better chance of soaking into your feet and not rubbing off by you walking around.

 BROWS
5. I've been waxing my own eye browns since high school with Sally Hansen Wax Kit. It's just strips that you can cut with scissors to fit the area you are waxing, peel the strips apart and apply to skin. It doesn't hurt and isn't messy like other kits that you have to microwave and melt.

PORES
6. These pore strips are the best! Ever since I discovered the Biore nose strips, I never looked back. They are easy to apply and you can see the results...literally (gross? yeah it kinda is). Just make sure to wash your face and rinse with warm water to help open those pores before using the strips. Once your done, rise your face with cold water to close the pores, it helps limit the black heads coming back as quickly. Try this once a week.

If you have any hand dandy ideas of your own to share, let me know! I loved to hear what you do to keep your skin, hair and nails looking nice!

Miss Ivette

Hello everyone! Welcome to Monday, who even likes Monday's? It's hard to get out of bed....drive through the traffic....and get to work after 2 day weekend of fun. Oh well. I am just glad to have another wonderful day of life and a job to drive to!

I should of posted these pictures about a month ago but kinda got busy and lost track...sorry for the delay on this one. Anyhow, I really enjoyed doing this session with the tall grass and the perfect sunset that gave such a warm color to these pictures. Congrats to you Ivette, we are excited for what the future holds for you!

Thinking about her future!
