Sassy Water

Anyone heard of Sassy Water before? It's said to help you shed pounds around your midsection by eliminating buildup of contaminants, excess water and fat.. So, of course I had to try it out for myself.

*Update: For best results, you should drink all the water within one day.

Ingredients:
8 1/2 Cups of water
1 Teaspoon of grated Ginger ( I didn't use ginger)
1 Medium cucumber (sliced thin)
  2 Large Lemon (sliced thin)
12 Mint Leaves

Method:

1. Slice cucumber and lemons.
Place in the bottom of the pitcher.
Toss in mint leaves. Add water

2. Chill overnight or for at least 8 hours.

This morning I stirred it real good to make sure it was all mixed well before serving my first cup! I hope to see some benefits from this drink...keep you posted!

Cupcake Anyone?

There's not a lot of goodies I can bake with confidence...so when my husband asked for cupcakes, I didn't hesitate to make them! LOL! I tend to burn almost all the cookies I bake him. I don't know why. They're his favorite treat and I fail over and over again...so I'll stick to cupcakes for now!

Here's a little cupcake humor...

Pasta E Fagioli Soup

My husband and I are huge fans of the soups served at Olive Garden and I've seen a few recipes for their soups but never tried them out. This week on found a recipe for the Pasta E Fagioli that seemed easy enough to try, so I gave it a shot. I can't find the link where I got the recipe from but as soon I as do find it I'll make sure to share the link!

Pasta E Fagioli Soup

Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef
1 small onion, finely diced
2 carrots, finely diced
2 stalks celery, finely diced
1 can diced tomatoes, undrained
1 can dark red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 can cannellini beans (or white kidney beans), drained and rinsed
1 (26 oz.) container beef stock (or 3 cups)
1 jar (25 oz.) jar spaghetti sauce
2 teaspoons dried oregano
2 teaspoons dried parsley
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
Salt, to taste (about ½ tbsp. kosher salt)
1 cup ditalini pasta (or your favorite pasta shape)

Cooks Directions:
Brown and crumble ground beef. Drain excess grease.
Add all the other ingredients to the slow cooker (except for pasta) and stir.
Set slow cooker on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 4-5 hours
During the last 30 minutes or so of cooking, add in the pasta and stir.

Cook’s Notes: Pasta likes to absorb a lot of the liquid so if you like your soup a bit more soupy, be prepared to have an extra can of beef broth handy. You can add it in towards the end.

Adrienne's Notes:  I decided not to use a crock-pot for this recipe, because I wanted to eat it for dinner that night. I let it simmer for 45 mins, stirring occasionally. Cooked the pasta and poured it into the soup at the 45 min mark. I let it all soak up for another 10-15 mins  and that's it! I was able to serve 6 bowl of soup with a little bit of leftovers with this recipe.

My December

This might be one of my longest post ever. Taking it all the way back to Christmas...we took family pictures with the new family members included this year...we went from 5 to 8 all in one year. What a blessing family can be!

Awe, Chris love his sisters...lol!
During the holidays I always offer a "Holiday Mini Session" at a discounted rate so that families can take pictures for their holiday cards. Thanks to my wonderful clients for hiring me :)

Then all my holiday decor went up early December. I've been adding a few snowman throughout the years...I'm still not done collecting all the snowman I want. I gotta say, I love the way the decorations make my house look and I was sad to take it all down once it was time.

New Years at my Mom's house was FUN! We played games, lit fireworks and played some more games...Thank God for a new year!

During the holidays I took THREE weeks off! Do you know how excited I was about this? Ask my family and friends...I was happy as can be! I took advantage of my time off by organizing each room, linen closet and my own bedroom closet...it feels good to have the house reorganized again. On top of all that I went on a few dates, baked, hung out with my cousin who came in from Georgia, finished my Christmas shopping, packed up all my holiday decor and went furniture shopping. I'm trying to complete my dinning room and formal living room...but I found nothing I like so far. (Sad Face)

If your not from my church, you might not know that we start the year with a week of prayer & fasting Pastor ask that we do a 3 day fast and if we decide to go longer, that's up to each individual. Well during those days...my mason jar was my best friend during my fast...it was never empty lol.

Then we broke our fast....
After fasting...this Nutter Butter  Shake never tasted better!!!

I hope everyone had a great Christmas & New years!!
